Teri Jean Breitbach joined Monica Leo's Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre in 1975. The two have explored all forms of puppetry artsfrom their West Liberty-based studio.

Many people of all ages know Teri Jean Breitbach as the Eulenspiegel puppeteer with the distinctive voice, the razor-sharp wit, and the impeccable sense of timing.  Members of the University Hospital community know her as the upbeat nurse who worked the night shift on the cardiac unit until her illness interrupted her career.  To help defray expenses incurred by Teri Jean’s battle with cancer, friends will hold a benefit concert and raffle on Saturday, May 21, at the Mill Restaurant in Iowa City.

The benefit starts at 7:00 p.m. and will continue till 11:00 P.M.  Admission is $10, and all proceeds will go to Teri Jean.

Among Teri Jean’s friends and supporters are some of the area’s best musicians and artists, may of whom are donating their time and talents to this event.  Performers for the evening include Dave Moore, Mutiny in the Parlor, the Sidemen, Guy Drollinger & Ron Hillis, Greg and Jean Thompson, Al and Aleta Murphy, The Drabbletails, Chuck Henderson, and Laura Kittrell.  Sue Gilbert will act as Mistress of Ceremonies.

In addition to fabulous  entertainment, the event will feature a raffle of many items created by area artists or donated by area theaters. Donating artists include Patti Zwick, Frank Ward, Tilly Woodward, Janis Russell, Kathy Wegman, Deanne Wortman, Michelle Edwards, Monica Leo, Claudia McGehee, David Luck, Sharon Burns-Knutson, Jan Friedman, and Melissa Arp.

Home Ec, Iowa Theatre Artists, and Riverside Theatre have donated items as well.  Raffle tickets will be for sale during the evening for $1 or 12 for $10.  Bring lots of cash and try your luck on several items!  If you can’t attend, ask a friend to buy your raffle tickets for you.

Space is limited, so be sure to get there early!  For further information, call (319) 627-2487.
