Susie Niedermeyer is by education a classical pianist, graduating with a degree in music from the University of Iowa. Her poetry has been published in journals and magazines including and others; her poem won 2nd place in a 2002 contest sponsored by the Her poetry also appears in (2004) and (2006). Niedermeyer won the for 2007 and her first book of poems, is now available online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble and in Fairfield at Revelations.
Care Connet has an eclectic education background, with degrees in philosophy, psychology, history and writing, and additional studies in art, photography and spiritual counseling. She has won numerous awards for her poetry, including first place awards and publication in Lyrical Iowa (2002, 2003, 2004), The National Federation of State Poetry Societies (1998, 2000, 2002, 2003), 100 Words (1998) and The Annual Lucille Sandberg Haiku Award (1998, Amelia). Her poetry has been published in The Contemporary Review (1999), nycBigApple (2000), The Iowa Source (2001, 2003), The Dryland Fish: An Anthology of Contemporary Iowa Poets (2004), Leaves by Night, Flowers by Day (2006), and This Enduring Gift: A Flowering of Fairfield Poetry (2010). Searching for Entrance (2001), her first book of poems, is available at Revelations and the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center in Fairfield. She also maintains a blog, www.curvingback.blogspot.com, where she posts poetry, photographs, paintings, fiction and nonfiction.
