I am an older Woman who has done arts and crafts all my life. I was a graphic designer and had a year of interior design as well. I am facing a crucial part of my life in that I cannot find a job that will support me. I wanted to get started in teaching arts and crafts to the older generation (I'm 60). In assisted living and retirement homes. I just don't know where to start. During the 70s, I was part of a team of girls who did live-in care for an 83 year old stroke victim who was totally dependent on the team for all her needs. In addition, her son had a a sunstroke and contracted encephalitis. He had been in a mental institution for many years and his sister decided to care for him with his mother at home. So, I learned many things from this 8 year experience. They are all passed away now, but from that time on, I've always had an affection for those who are afflicted. I could go into our activities and what we did to entertain Lola and Dale, but I think you get the picture.
My question is how do I go about getting my business started? Can you recommend someone to give me advice?
Sincerely,
Kathy - Kathy Seymour
