2011 Holiday Fairs are the Biggest Yet!

The 15th Annual Artisans Holiday Open House is being held Saturday and Sunday, December 3 and 4, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the MainStay Inn at 300 North Main Street in Fairfield. This event offers a unique opportunity to purchase gift items made by talented local artists and craftspeople.

Items for sale include jewelry; herb-infused olive oils and vinegars, chocolate truffles; garden art birdhouses and avian-inspired pillows; functional pottery; tableboards and other wooden kitchen products.

You'll also find flower-pressed greeting cards and art; silk, hemp, organic cotton, and wool gifts; hair accessories; natural body products, soaps, and salves; hand-dyed silk scarves;

And there's more: fruit jams and herbal jellies; alpaca wool hats, gloves, and yarns. beeswax candles; raw honey; eco-friendly products; and many other surprises.

In addition to shopping for gifts, you can complete your holiday decorating with beautiful evergreen wreaths sold by the Maharishi School Senior Girls in support of their senior class trip.

Enjoy holiday music, sip on hot beverages, and nibble on homemade treats while you shop. Then complete your afternoon with a relaxing chair massage by Jane Louros!

Dharma Holiday Trade Fair

Find special gifts for everyone on your list at the largest annual Holiday Trade Fair ever from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011, in the MUM Campus Fieldhouse off North B Street, Fairfield.

This will be the biggest trade fair yet, with over 60 vendors offering a range of gifts to suit every taste and budget.

Selections include a wide range of toys, jewelry, silk scarves, hand-felted slippers, "up-cycled" creations, knitted socks and hats, clothes, handcrafted decorations, hand-painted birdhouses, pottery, and wooden utensils.

Plus, you'll find beeswax candles, wreaths, poinsettias, books by local authors, personal care products, skin creams, scented soaps, aroma oils, incense, homemade treats, herbed gourmet oils, local jams and pies, fair trade coffees and chocolates, henna, crafts.

Kids will be able to participate in face painting, and adults can take a break from shopping with a chair massage!
