James McCartney's U.S. Premiere: Nov. 14, 2009

David Lynch Foundation Concert, with Laura Dawn & Little Death NYC and Donovan

James McCartney made his U.S. debut under his own name on that night, opening two sets with his own songs, including one memorable number called "Spirit Guides."

Of James McCartney, host David Lynch said, "James has a way with melody and a set of pipes which are more than a match for his dad's."

Next up were Laura Dawn and her band, the Little Death NYC (Daron Murphy, left).

Laura Dawn (with husband Daron Murphy) is not just a powerhouse vocalist, but she's been politically active with MoveOn.org since 2004.

Donovan's songs from the 60s still resonate with an appealing sweetness and optimism.

The Little Death NYC joined Donovan onstage for the finale.

Cool just does not get any cooler than filmmaker/humanitarian David Lynch, host of the concert and of the weekend "Change Begins Within" event at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa.
