Pop artist Reem

Need some good fuel for seasonal renewal? Enjoy this list of 11 songs for elevating the springtime vibe in your world. These tracks cover a wide range of genres, from pop/rock, alternative, and reggae to R&B soul, new age, classical crossover, and electronic. You can listen to full tracks free on my Spotify page at DJ Andy Bargerstock.

“Bad Energy” by Reem (2024). Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, this female pop artist writes and performs music for film and TV soundtracks. Her solution to bad energy: “Spread my wings and I’ll fly to the ends of the earth.”

“Is It Just Me?” by Sasha Alex Cohen (2020). Sasha is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter of melancholic indie tracks exploring her self-doubts and insecurities. This beautiful song also features vocals by American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth. If you like this track, check out Sasha’s song “This Town.”

Sophia St. Helen

“To Where and Where From?” by Sophia St. Helen (2024). Sophia’s songs are characterized by mellow, indie-folk Americana sounds and explore themes of love, heartbreak, and self-reflection. She splits living between San Francisco and Athens, Greece. I love her vocal delivery and wonderful instrumental support. Enjoy the great engineering on this track.

“Land of the Midnight Sun” by Stick Figure (2025). Scott Woodruff is the lead singer and guitarist for California reggae band Stick Figure. This mostly instrumental track is from their latest release, Free Flow Sessions.

“When a Man Cries” by Leon Bridges (2024). Born in Atlanta, Leon has adopted a shimmering Sam Cooke R&B style, as evidenced on this track. He also collaborates with the Texas-based, globally influenced band Khruangbin.

“Summertime (Worldtraveller India Downbeat Cut Remix)” by Living Room (2018). Worldtraveller (aka Living Room) is a German studio engineer and musician based in Munich. He draws upon his classical music training and exposure to clients in various genres to compose his own musical experiments. On this track, the chill keyboards remind me of the work of Henry Binns on Zero 7 albums in the early 2000s.

“Spiritual Spiritual” by B-Tribe (2001). My friend Bruce Miller recently reminded me about this vintage new age track. When I played it again for the first time in more than a decade, it created such a blissful rush that I had to add it to my spring playlist. B-Tribe, or the Barcelona Tribe of Soulsters, is a musical project of German-born musicians and producers Claus Zundel, Markus Staab, and Ralf Hamm. Enjoy!

“Monomer” by Leroy Wild, Amick Cutler, Eric Andrew Taylor (2020). Beautiful acoustic guitar leads off this alternative instrumental from the 2020 release Nylon, Vol. 1. Check out the entire EP—it’s wonderful!

“Wouldn’t Be Love (Acoustic) by Ritual (2017). Ritual is a London-based three-piece electronic band consisting of Adam Midgley (a.k.a., Adam Gross), Tommy Baxter, and Gerard O’Connell. The group also writes songs for other artists, including Dua Lipa, Bishop Briggs, and Avicii.

“Sonic Samba” by Armin van Buuren (2025). Dutch keyboard talent Armin van Buuren is a worldwide musical talent known for compositions and performances in trance, house, and progressive pop genres. On this track, he proves his facility with classical crossover, demonstrating wonderful piano skills alongside violin accompaniment.

“Corals Under the Sun” by Yehezkel Raz (2020). This track by Israeli Yehezkel Raz, a minimalist musical architect, is a good companion piece to the previous one. The piano whispers with ethereal themes, drifting heavenward, while beautiful, moody female vocalization adds to the splendor. Cool.
