SEVA – Puppet Fundraiser for Head Start
SEVA is planning four Fairytale puppet shows and puppet making workshops for 200 children with their parents from the Head Start program. Head Start children 3-5 years old are underprivileged children without the resources to see a live performance or the materials to create something of their very own.

SEVA will put on a puppet performance of four classic fairy tales; Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Princess and the Frog, and The Three Little Pigs followed by step-by-step instruction for the children to create their own puppet from the play.

SEVA provides all the craft materials necessary to make the puppets and teaches the workshop. All activities are simple and doable for the kids with parental help. Kids are hungry for their parent’s attention and shared experience of creative fun together.

SEVA feels that a child’s self-esteem is developed out of a sense of mastery over their world. The fairy tale puppet shows and puppet making workshop gives kids a hands-on learning experience and an opportunity to express them selves.

Kids participate in three phases of creativity: They see it, do it, and own it… they go home with a puppet character of their very own.

SEVA is looking for $1200 to help with the expenses they need to create these show/workshops.

Send checks to: SEVA c/o Francesca Hoerlein, 2251 Mint Blvd., Fairfield, Iowa 52556
