International pianist Hayden Miller will be performing a free concert on Thursday, December 18, 7 p.m., at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. Titled “Fata Morgana,” the program will feature works by Beethoven, Brahms, Cashian, Davis, and Gershwin.
Miller is a pianist from Houston, Texas, with Iowa roots. He is the grandson of Fairfield residents Jerry and Linda Bradfield. With repertoire ranging from Louis Couperin to Alexina Louie, Hayden often travels beyond the canon of classical music, creating interdisciplinary experiences with visual artists, writers, actors, and dancers. He currently studies at London’s Royal Academy of Music, where he was the 2023 recipient of the WH and George Myddleton Award.
Hayden was a 2023 YoungArts winner and received top prizes in the Oberlin Piano Competition and the Houston International Music Competition. Additionally, his performances have been featured on multiple radio programs, including the BBC, NPR’s Encore Houston, and The Houston Hour, as well as at PianoTexas, the Curtis Institute of Music, and the International Florence Price Festival. He recently made debuts at music festivals in Italy and Finland.
Hayden takes a special interest in new music and frequently appears with the Manson Ensemble. His debut recording of music by Stewart Lane was released in September 2025 on all streaming platforms. An avid collaborator, Hayden is currently a member of the Primrose Trio and the Tesela Trio.
