Wake Up Your Skin with a Boost of Caffeine

Frank Body makes coffee-infused products that wake up your skin!

Drinking your coffee might not be the only way to savor it. Coffee scrubs are the latest rage in skincare, with Frank Body leading the way. Frank’s tongue-in-cheek marketing campaign aims to seduce you into taking better care of your skin.

The Science

Recent studies show that caffeine is a powerful skin anti-inflammatory that fights cellulite and dark under-eye circles. Frank also claims to target acne, scarring, stretch marks, eczema, and psoriasis. With its enormous social media following of nearing a million, you can easily find pictures of Frank customers on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter showing their incredible improvement with skin issues. And if you care about animal testing, you’ll be happy to hear that Frank only tests on people.

My Two Cents

At first glance I thought that Frank was just a witty advertisement, but when I started using Frank, it was love at first touch. The coffee scrub contains oil, leaving you not only polished but also moisturized. The smell is positively intoxicating and you feel pampered all over. The peppermint-infused version is my absolute favorite and I appreciate that Frank Body is completely natural. Believe the hype, the Frank effect is real.

Pratima Skincare

As if coffee isn’t enough of an unlikely enough ingredient to put on your skin, why not try crushed pearls or gold? Dr. Pratima Raichur, author of Absolute Beauty: Radiant Skin and Inner Harmony Through the Ancient Secrets of Ayurveda, personally makes a line of skincare products fit for royalty.

Pratima Skincare’s focus is purity, using certified organic essential oils and recycled glass packaging to keep products fresh and active. The formulas are based on wisdom passed down over the last 5,000 years. Pratima says, “My intention has always been to create nature-intelligent formulas that go beyond what’s inside the bottle and transcend into rituals of healing and self-care.”

The Sandalwood Rose Mask is made from distilled rose petals and pure sandalwood mud to offer a nutrient-rich treatment that will purify, calm, gently exfoliate, and tighten pores. Add the Rejuvenating Gold Eye Cream and Pearl Cream to your beauty shelf and it will leave you feeling like Cleopatra throughout your day.

Essential Routine

With all this talk of heavenly skin care, let’s return to the basics and discuss what an essential beauty routine looks like, regardless of the products you decide to use.

Every morning and evening you should wash your face to ensure your pores are squeaky clean. You can use toner before you moisturize if you like; I spritz on a little rose water instead. Dab on eye cream around the sensitive eye area and brow bone using your ring finger. Lastly, moisturize.

Exfoliate at least twice a week to remove dullness and dead skin cells. Use a mask at least once a week targeting your specific problems, such as dehydration, acne, or aging.

Skin care is not limited to your face; use your face products on your neck and décolletage as well. Invest in body care products and follow a regular routine of scrubbing and oiling up from toes to fingertips. Keep hand cream in your purse and reapply throughout the day.

Turn your bathroom into your own personal beauty haven where you can retreat and restore yourself. Take a tip from Frank and let skin care become a love affair.
